Station Camp High School: Writers Of Our Tomorrow

Objective:

The purpose for Station Camp High School’s Writers’ Club (WOOT) is to provide and organize aspiring writers to further develop his or her skills and to promote the publication of the individual’s work. Activities are designed around student teaching to encourage leadership skills and enhance understanding and respect to fellow classmates. Furthermore, meetings are held in and out of school grounds to create new settings in which to perform the individual’s work and receive varying feedback.

Rules and Guidelines:

The rules of WOOT stand for all members of the organization. If one individual cannot follow the guidelines after a series of misdemeanors shall result in expulsion from the organization. Such rules and guidelines go as follows:

  1. Be kind and courteous to others and to their writing. If you have an objective to an individual’s writing, address them either privately and/or with polite constructive criticism.
  2. Writing about one’s personal faith and/or other religion is tolerated. However, if it is seen as mocking or critical of the practice, editing may be insisted.
  3. Swearing is permitted only when to develop a piece of writing. Sexual references or content is highly discouraged and can be deemed as unacceptable to the organization. If the writing is strong with such themes, it may result in member expulsion.
  4. Always listen and follow directions from the club sponsor and club officers. Whether the situation is minor or serious, directions from said individuals are key.
  5. Your writing must be based upon your personal thoughts and feelings (with fan fictions with bending guidelines). Plagiarism is not permitted on any case and could result in expulsion.

When meeting in an off-campus site, individuals are still considered to be objective to school policy. After the meeting, each individual is responsible for himself or herself. If behavior by an individual is seen unfit, it could result from expulsion.
